Era
New shapes and new owners. Gibson brought the SG in 1961 and the Firebird in 1963, then the 1968 Les Paul Goldtop. Fender added the Jaguar and Mustang, and CBS bought the company in January 1965, which is why the CBS-era Stratocaster has its own page. Rickenbacker gave the Beatles era its 360/12 and 4001, and Mosrite built the Ventures models, the Mark V, the Combo and the Joe Maphis double-neck in Bakersfield.
